12 BJP Candidates Face Defeat Despite NDA Wave in Bihar Assembly Elections: Congress Secures 6 Seats

BJP supporters celebrated NDA's lead in vote counting of Bihar assembly election in Nagpur on Friday.
Despite the BJP's remarkable performance in the Bihar assembly elections with most of its 101 candidates securing significant victories, 12 nominees failed to win their seats as counting concluded late at night.
Several of these unsuccessful candidates lost by extremely narrow margins, with some defeated by as few as 30 or 178 votes, according to Election Commission data.
In contrast, only six of the Congress party's 61 candidates managed to withstand the dominant NDA wave in the state.
Among the BJP's 12 unsuccessful nominees, Vinod Kumar suffered a decisive defeat in the Baisi constituency, losing to AIMIM's Ghulam Sarwar by 27,251 votes. Kumar received 27,251 votes in total.
BJP's Haribhushan Thakur lost the Bisfi seat to RJD's Asif Ahmad by 8,107 votes, polling 92,664 votes according to Election Commission figures.
In Chanpatia, BJP's Umakant Singh narrowly missed victory by just 602 votes, receiving 86,936 votes against Congress candidate Abhishek Ranjan's 87,538.
Vidya Sagar Keshari was defeated in the Forbesganj constituency by an extremely thin margin of 221 votes, with Congress's Manoj Bishwas emerging victorious after securing 1,20,114 votes.
The BJP's Sweety Singh received 76,875 votes but lost the Kishanganj seat to Congress candidate Md Qamrul Hoda by 12,794 votes.
Bina Devi's performance was particularly disappointing as she finished third in Kochadhaman with 44,858 votes. AIMIM's Md Sarwar Alam won that seat with 81,860 votes, followed by RJD's Mujahid Alam with 58,839 votes.
In Saharsa, BJP candidate Alok Ranjan was defeated by a margin of 2,038 votes, losing to Indrajeet Prasad Gupta of the Indian Inclusive Party who secured 1,15,036 votes.
After an initial close contest in Raghopur, BJP's Satish Kumar ultimately lost to RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, who was also the INDIA Bloc's Chief Ministerial candidate, by 14,532 votes. Kumar received 1,04,065 votes.
BJP's Aruna Devi lost the Warisaliganj seat to RJD's Anita by 7,543 votes, receiving 90,290 votes in total.
In Ramgarh, an extremely tight race concluded with BJP's Ashok Kumar Singh losing to Bahujan Samaj Party's Satish Kumar Singh Yadav by just 30 votes. Singh received 72,659 votes.
In Dhaka constituency, BJP's Pawan Kumar Jaiswal was defeated by RJD's Faisal Rahman by only 178 votes, with Jaiswal securing 1,12,549 votes.
BJP's Dr. Raviranjan Kumar lost the Goh seat to RJD's Amrendra Kumar by 4,041 votes, receiving 89,583 votes.
On the other side, just six of the Congress party's 61 candidates managed to secure victories.
The successful Congress candidates were Surendra Prasad, Abhisekh Ranjan, Manoj Bishwas, Abidur Rehman, Md Qamrul Hoda, and Manohar Prasad Singh.
Surendra Prasad won the Valmiki Nagar seat by 1,675 votes, defeating JD(U)'s Dhirendra Prasad Singh alias Rinku Singh. Prasad received 1,07,730 votes.
In Araria, Abidur Rehman defeated JD(U)'s Shagufta Azim by 12,741 votes, securing 91,529 votes.
Congress candidate Manohar Prasad Singh defeated Shambhu Kumar Suman by 15,168 votes, receiving a total of 1,14,754 votes.
