PM Modi Celebrates Democracy as BJP Wins Key Bypolls in Jammu & Kashmir and Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his gratitude to citizens after the National Democratic Alliance secured a decisive victory in Bihar and won two additional seats in recent bypolls, with BJP claiming victories in Jammu and Kashmir's Nagrota and Odisha's Nuapada constituencies.

Speaking to BJP supporters at the party headquarters in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi declared, "The people have granted BJP victory in these bypolls. This represents not merely an NDA triumph but a victory for democracy itself. These electoral outcomes have reinforced public confidence in the Election Commission."

In Nagrota, Devyani Rana emerged victorious in the bypoll that was called following the passing of her father, Devender Singh Rana, who had been the constituency's sitting MLA. She defeated Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party candidate Harsh Dev Singh by a substantial margin of 24,647 votes. National Conference candidate Shamim Begum received only 10,872 votes and forfeited her deposit.

The Nuapada constituency saw BJP's Jay Dholakia secure a commanding victory over Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi with an impressive margin of 83,748 votes. Jay is the son of the late BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia, whose death necessitated the bypoll.

Additional bypolls were conducted across several regions including Anta (Rajasthan), Ghatshila (Jharkhand), Jubilee Hills (Telangana), Tarn Taran (Punjab), Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir), and Dampa (Mizoram).
