Maithili Thakur is positioned to become Bihar's youngest MLA in history.
Nearly ten Generation Z candidates participated in the two-phase Bihar Assembly elections, including spiritual vocalist and BJP's Alinagar candidate Maithili Thakur. Here's how these nine 25-year-old candidates were performing as of 4 pm:
In Alinagar constituency, Maithili Thakur appears set to make history as the state's youngest ever Member of Legislative Assembly. She maintains a substantial lead of approximately 7,000 votes over Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) Binod Mishra.
Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party's (RLJP) candidate Yash Raj was defeated in Alauli by Janata Dal (United)'s Ram Chandra Sada.
As the vote counting continues in Amour, Aam Aadmi Party's Muntazir Alam currently holds sixth position with 2,300 votes. In this constituency, AIMIM's Akhtarul Iman leads with over 100,000 votes.
Independent candidate Neha from Aurangabad has secured only about 200 votes, while BJP's Trivikram Singh maintains a commanding lead in that constituency.
Two Gen Z candidates, RLJP's Amrita Soni and Congress' Naveen Kumar, contested from Bathnaha. Kumar holds second position while Soni trails in fourth place. BJP's Anil Kumar leads with more than 54,000 votes.
In Bajpatti constituency, Sushil Raj representing the Bhartiya Sarthak Party has garnered just 823 votes, placing him far from victory contention.
Independent candidate Raviranjan Kumar trails significantly in Pipra with 4,200 votes compared to BJP's Shyam Babu Prasad Yadav, who has accumulated over 107,000 votes.
Independent candidate Shambhu Babu is also trailing in Supaul, where JD(U)'s Bijendra Prasad Yadav appears headed toward victory.
