Bihar Election 2025: JD(U) and RJD Engage in Dramatic Poster War as State Awaits Assembly Results

As Bihar awaits critical Assembly election results, competing political factions have launched a creative poster war, with JD(U) promoting "Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai" featuring Nitish Kumar while RJD counters with "Alvida Chacha" posters. Exit polls predict NDA victory, though opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav remains confident of securing a majority. The results will determine if Nitish Kumar retains his position as Bihar's longest-serving chief minister.

'Tiger Zinda Hai' Vs 'Alvida Chacha' Poster War In Bihar Ahead Of Results

Exit polls have predicted the ruling NDA coalition will maintain power in Bihar state.

A fierce poster war has erupted between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance in Bihar as the state eagerly awaits today's Assembly election results.

Janata Dal (United), which competed in 101 seats, displayed prominent posters and banners featuring party leader Nitish Kumar with the phrase 'Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai' (Tiger is still alive). These displays highlight Kumar's position as Bihar's longest-serving chief minister and suggest his confidence in securing an unprecedented fifth term. Former Bihar Minister Ranjit Sinha dedicated the campaign poster.

Visuals from JD(U) headquarters in Patna show the party's strong confidence in an NDA victory under Nitish Kumar's leadership. The prominent "Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai" messaging reflects their certainty about maintaining power in the state.

In direct response, the Opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) displayed competing posters outside their office bearing the message 'Alvida Chacha' (goodbye uncle). This provocative poster mocks Nitish Kumar and features caricatures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

At the RJD headquarters in Patna, the "Alvida Chacha" poster symbolically portrays Nitish Kumar's potential exit from the chief minister position. The RJD, having contested 143 seats, remains confident about the Grand Alliance's prospects.

Today's Bihar Assembly results will determine whether Nitish Kumar, the state's most enduring chief minister, will maintain his position. The state recorded a historic 67.13 percent voter participation across the two-phase elections for the 243-member assembly held on November 6 and 11.

Exit poll predictions suggest the ruling NDA will retain control of the state with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party. An aggregate from nine exit polls indicates the NDA will secure 147 seats while the grand alliance will obtain 90 seats. These predictions show RJD winning between 57 and 69 seats, down from their previous 75. The Congress, which previously won 19 seats, is projected to decline to 14, while the Jan Suraaj Party may secure one seat.

However, exit polls have often proven unreliable in the past.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate for the 'Mahagathbandhan' (Grand Alliance), has dismissed these exit poll predictions. He has confidently claimed that the opposition coalition will form the government with a substantial majority.

The state's NDA coalition comprises five parties, though JD(U) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contested the majority of seats, with each fielding candidates in 101 constituencies. The INDIA bloc includes RJD, Congress, CPI(ML) Liberation, other Left parties, and Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP).
