A 14-year-old student took her own life by jumping from the 19th floor of a residential building near Mumbai after becoming distressed about receiving low marks in an examination, according to police reports.

Authorities stated that the young girl, identified as Riddhi Kharade, who resided in the Raunak City complex in Kalyan, Thane district, arrived home at approximately 3 pm following her school's "open day" where examination results were distributed. When she returned home, only her elder sister was present, and Riddhi confided in her about feeling unhappy because of her unsatisfactory academic performance.

"Subsequently, she jumped from the 19th floor of the building. We are conducting further investigation into the incident," an official stated.
