20-Year-Old Domestic Worker From Bihar Dies By Suicide At Employer's Residence In Gurugram

A 20-year-old domestic help was found to have died by suicide in a residential society in Sector 50, Gurugram early Thursday morning, according to police reports.

Authorities discovered her body hanging from a noose in one of the rooms at her employer's residence at approximately 5:00 am. Police have stated that they are still working to determine the cause, and no suicide note was found at the scene.

Police identified the deceased as Khushi Pal, originally from Araria district in Bihar. She had been employed as a domestic worker at the residence in Maple Gardens society in Sector 50 for several months prior to the incident.

Reports indicate that Khushi had been experiencing mental distress in the days leading up to her death, which may have contributed to her taking this extreme step.

The incident came to light when her employers became concerned after she didn't emerge from her room Thursday morning. When they knocked on her door and received no response, they discovered it was locked from the inside. Looking through a window, they found her body hanging, prompting them to immediately alert the police.

A senior police officer confirmed that authorities arrived promptly at the location and recovered her body. The officer also stated that Khushi's family has been notified of her death, and her body has been sent for postmortem examination. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway.
