Universities' Body Suspends Al Falah's Membership After Red Fort Blast

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) announced on Thursday the suspension of Al Falah University's membership following its connection to the Red Fort blast investigation.

An official from AIU stated that "Al Falah University, Haryana, does not appear to be in good standing," which led to the immediate suspension decision.

The AIU, registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, serves as a collaborative platform for administrators and academics from member universities across India to discuss matters of common interest and share perspectives.

AIU Secretary General Pankaj Mittal explained, "It is intimated that, as per the bye-laws of the Association of Indian Universities, all universities shall be treated as members as long as they remain in good standing."

Mittal further clarified that following recent developments, Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, has lost its good standing status with the organization, resulting in the immediate suspension of its AIU membership.

Additionally, the university has been prohibited from utilizing the AIU name or logo in any capacity, and must remove all AIU branding from its official website immediately.

The private institution, which includes a hospital on its premises in Dhauj village, Faridabad, came under scrutiny after authorities uncovered what they described as an interstate "white collar" terror module.

A devastating high-intensity explosion occurred near Delhi's Red Fort on Monday, claiming 13 lives and causing numerous injuries. This tragedy followed shortly after security forces dismantled the terror network and arrested eight individuals, including three doctors associated with Al Falah University.
