Leopard Attacks Tourist Through Safari Bus Window at Bannerghatta National Park

A terrifying wildlife encounter unfolded at Bannerghatta National Park in Karnataka when a leopard grabbed a female tourist's clothing through a safari bus window, causing minor injuries. This incident follows previous leopard encounters at the same park, raising questions about visitor safety during wildlife safaris.

The leopard can be seen biting and pulling a piece of a woman's clothing from one of the windows.

A regular safari at the Bannerghatta National Park in Karnataka on Thursday turned into a frightening experience for tourists when a leopard attempted to enter their vehicle, resulting in injury to one person.

A video of the incident captures the leopard initially sitting in front of the bus while tourists observe it. The big cat then rises and approaches the left side of the vehicle.

The leopard is then visible biting and pulling at a woman's clothing through one of the windows. Despite metal grills designed to prevent the animal from entering, small gaps between the grills and the sliding window doors allowed the leopard to insert its paws inside. As the leopard tugged on the fabric, several passengers attempted to help free the woman from the encounter.

Eventually, a portion of the clothing tore away, and another tourist closed the window. The woman, who was traveling with her family from Chennai, sustained minor injuries. More than a dozen tourists were aboard the safari vehicle during this incident.

This is not the first leopard-related occurrence at Bannerghatta National Park. In October of the previous year, a viral video showed another leopard attempting to climb a safari vehicle and peering at passengers through the windows.

In that earlier incident, the leopard tried to jump onto the roof of the bus, but the driver moved forward, causing the big cat to retreat back into its natural habitat.
