Kerala Relationship Coaches in Crisis: Wife Accuses Husband of Domestic Violence

Kerala relationship coaches Gigi Mario and Mario Joseph, widely recognized for their counseling services, are now in the spotlight due to serious domestic violence allegations.

Gigi Mario has filed a formal complaint against her husband Mario Joseph, accusing him of physical assault. The couple, who have amassed a significant social media following through their relationship advice and life coaching content, had been living separately for approximately nine months due to professional disagreements.

According to the FIR registered by Chalakudy police in Thrissur district on November 1, the incident occurred on October 25 when the couple met to discuss their ongoing differences. What reportedly began as a conversation quickly deteriorated into a confrontation.

Gigi alleges that during this altercation, Mario struck her head with a set-top box, bit her left hand, and pulled her hair. The complaint further states that he damaged her mobile phone, valued at approximately Rs 70,000.

Based on these allegations, authorities have registered a case against Mario Joseph under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Section 126(2) for wrongful restraint, 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 118(1) for causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons or means, and 324(4) for mischief resulting in property damage.

The couple are co-founders of the Philokalia Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing family counseling, matrimonial services, and various charitable initiatives.

Police officials have confirmed that the investigation into these allegations is currently ongoing.
