Tata Projects Ltd was awarded the contract to construct the Noida International Airport.
New Delhi:
Tata Projects, the infrastructure and construction division of Tata Group, announced on Thursday that the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, will commence operations soon, confirming that the necessary approvals are currently in progress.
Tata Projects Ltd was entrusted with the contract to construct the Noida International Airport (NIA).
"Noida International Airport Ltd is collaborating with DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) to secure safety and security clearances, specifically the aerodrome license. The process has now shifted toward regulatory approval rather than construction matters.
"Our construction work is essentially complete and ready for the Prime Minister's inauguration," stated Vinayak Pai, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Projects, during a press conference.
When questioned about the timeline, Pai indicated that the airport is expected to begin operations "in a short period of time".
He mentioned that the company continues to expand its project portfolio, aiming to maintain an order book ranging between Rs 40,000 crore and Rs 43,000 crore.
The company is increasingly involved in emerging sectors such as 4th generation manufacturing, electronic semiconductor manufacturing, solar panel production, and data centers.
"Our average project completion time is decreasing. Many of these projects reach completion within 18 months to two years. We have established a reputation for fast-track and predictable project delivery, and we intend to maintain this competitive advantage," Pai elaborated.
The company had reported a net loss of Rs 751 crore in the previous financial year.
Addressing this matter, Pai explained, "These losses result from the cumulative effect of projects that were ongoing during the Covid period and before. Many of those projects are now nearing completion.
"Our portfolio of new projects is consistently profitable. The older projects will be completed this year. Starting next year, financial results will reflect the new portfolio, which will have a significant positive impact on profitability." Tata Projects, a technology-driven engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company, offers ready-to-implement solutions for semiconductor facilities, giga factories, data centers, and other infrastructure projects.
