Delhi Blast Investigation: Four Vehicles Linked to Suspected Terror Module of Doctors

Security agencies have identified four vehicles connected to a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad terror module operating from Faridabad, including doctors from Al-Falah University. The investigation reveals plans for multiple explosive attacks across Delhi NCR, with one vehicle already causing a deadly blast near Red Fort that killed 13 people and injured over 20.

Four cars are suspected to be linked to the alleged terror module connected to the Delhi blast

New Delhi:

As the investigation into the Delhi blast intensifies, security agencies have identified another vehicle that was part of the alarming plan to execute attacks in the national capital. This vehicle, sources indicated, is a Maruti Suzuki Brezza and potentially served for reconnaissance of targets or as an escape option.

This represents the fourth vehicle connected to the suspected Jaish-e-Mohammad module, which included doctors operating from Faridabad. This network was exposed during a significant explosives seizure. Following this discovery, an explosion in Old Delhi resulted in 13 fatalities and over 20 injuries. The investigation into the blast established a connection to the Faridabad-based module.

The four vehicles investigators have linked to the plot include a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire owned by Dr Shaheen Saeed, who was apprehended after assault rifles and ammunition were discovered in her vehicle. This car, according to sources, was also utilized by Muzammil, who allegedly secured the rooms where explosives were stored. Both Shaheen and Muzammil, currently in custody, were employed at Al-Falah University in Faridabad.

The second vehicle involved is the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort Metro Station. It was purchased on October 29 by Dr Umar Mohammed, also known as Umar un-Nabi, who was driving it Monday evening when he triggered the explosion. Umar worked alongside Muzammil and Shaheen at Al-Falah.

An additional vehicle connected to Umar and suspected to be part of the terror plot was recovered in Khandwali, Faridabad. This Red EcoSport, according to sources, contained traces of ammonium nitrate, a chemical used in explosive manufacturing. Investigators believe this vehicle may have transported the chemical. This red vehicle was also registered under Umar's name.

The Brezza, reports indicate, belonged to Shaheen and was parked at her residence where she lived as a resident doctor. The vehicle remained parked there. Shaheen reportedly purchased the car recently and had celebrated the acquisition with colleagues.

Security agencies suspect the terror module planned to equip all vehicles with explosives to target multiple locations across the Delhi NCR region. While the i20 was prepared, authorities disrupted the module before the other vehicles could be similarly outfitted, according to investigation agency sources.
