Srikakulam: A 20-year-old engineering student has tragically ended his life in Etcherla, located in Andhra Pradesh's Srikakulam district, according to police reports.

Srikakulam district Superintendent of Police KV Maheshwara Reddy confirmed that P Srujan was found deceased in his hostel room early Wednesday morning after hanging himself.

"The third-year electrical engineering student took his life in his hostel accommodation during the early hours today," Reddy informed PTI.

Initial investigations reveal that Srujan had an interest in filmmaking and had reportedly been receiving medical treatment for depression prior to the incident.

Authorities have registered a case under BNS Section 194 in connection with the suicide.
