Police reported on Friday that a 24-year-old woman allegedly fatally stabbed her boyfriend following a dispute regarding their marriage in Jharkhand's Chatra district.

According to authorities, Md Muntajir (34), originally from Sasang village in Latehar district, had traveled to visit his girlfriend Shabbu Praveen, also known as Noorjahan, in Lamta village within Chatra's Lawalong police station jurisdiction on Thursday evening.

Officials stated that an argument erupted between the couple concerning their marriage plans, during which Noorjahan stabbed Muntajir.

Muntajir was rushed to Chatra Sadar Hospital for medical attention, from where he was subsequently referred to RIMS-Ranchi. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries while en route to the state capital, according to police reports.

Authorities confirmed that Noorjahan has been apprehended and the weapon used in the crime has been confiscated.

Lawalong police station's in-charge Prashant Mishra stated, "The victim provided a statement before his death, which formed the basis for filing an FIR. On Friday, a court remanded the accused to judicial custody."
