The Indian Army's Southern Command executed "Exercise Maru Jwala" (desert flame) in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, near the Pakistan border on Tuesday. The demonstration featured soldiers parachuting from aircraft, tanks maneuvering through desert terrain, and advanced drones and robots showcasing military capabilities.

This exercise forms part of the ongoing tri-services "Trishul" drill, highlighting the readiness and coordination of elite military units. The operation demonstrated the armed forces' synchronized capabilities in planning and implementing complex airborne operations.

Several videos circulated on social media platforms revealed the seamless integration between the army's mechanized forces, artillery, aviation, and infantry units, confirming the military's ability to function effectively across diverse environments.

Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, reviewed Tuesday's exercise alongside other senior officials.

In his address to reporters, Lieutenant General Seth explained, "Exercise Maru Jwala represented the culminating phase of operations conducted over the previous two months. During this period, the Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Southern Command, functioning as a strike corps, has been engaged in intensive training in this region."

"The Shahbaz Division, a rapid response unit, played a central role in this exercise. Additionally, the Southern Command's Aviation Brigade, EW Brigade, and Para-SF Battalion participated. The collective achievements of these units over the past two months were demonstrated this morning during Maru Jwala. The pathfinders from the 7th Para Battalion and the Airborne Battalion serve as the final-stage strategic force," Seth elaborated.

Seth commended the troops' dedication and preparedness, highlighting the integration of modern equipment for future military operations.

Concurrently, troops from the Dao Division conducted coordinated training exercises across forward areas of Arunachal Pradesh. The army stated that these drills emphasized coordination, adaptability, and operational readiness under varying terrain and environmental conditions.

The training incorporated various simulated operational scenarios designed to enhance teamwork, refine tactical responses, and validate standard operating procedures under realistic field conditions.
