Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted two consecutive security review meetings following the deadly Delhi blast near Red Fort that resulted in 12 fatalities.
In New Delhi, Amit Shah issued a stern warning on Tuesday, directing security agencies to locate and apprehend every individual responsible for the Delhi explosion that claimed a dozen lives.
Shah emphasized that all perpetrators would face severe consequences from security agencies.
This declaration came after he presided over two back-to-back security assessment meetings held in response to Monday evening's explosion near the Red Fort.
"Chaired review meetings on the Delhi car blast with the senior officials. Instructed them to hunt down each and every culprit behind this incident. Everyone involved in this act will face the full wrath of our agencies," Shah stated on his X platform account.
The initial meeting included Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and NIA Director General Sadanand Vasant Date.
Jammu and Kashmir's Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat participated remotely in the meeting.
During these sessions, high-ranking officials delivered comprehensive briefings on the post-blast situation, according to sources.
Nearly identical officials attended the afternoon security assessment meeting.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has transferred the blast investigation to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
This transfer clearly indicates the government considers the explosion, which has claimed 12 lives so far, an act of terrorism, as the NIA's mandate exclusively covers terror-related investigations.
Shah confirmed that premier investigative agencies were examining the explosion and would conduct a thorough investigation of the incident.
The explosion occurred in a slow-moving vehicle at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening, killing 12 individuals, injuring 20 others, and destroying several vehicles, officials reported.
