Bhubaneswar:

A tense situation developed outside the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Friday when a female protester from Jajpur attempted to breach security and enter the government building with specific demands. Despite rigorous security measures in place, the woman tried to force her way toward the Assembly complex but was quickly intercepted and restrained by police officers on duty.

The protester, who has been identified as Saraswati, was taken into custody following her attempt to enter the restricted Assembly premises to highlight her unresolved grievances. She claimed that her vehicle had been sold against her will under duress and expressed frustration that multiple complaints submitted through the Chief Minister's grievance redressal system had received no proper response.

According to available information, Saraswati had previously sought assistance from senior law enforcement officials, including meetings with both the Police Commissioner and the Director General of Police to address her concerns. She stated that her problems originated during the previous BJD administration's tenure, during which time her numerous complaints were allegedly ignored. She further contended that the current BJP-led government and police authorities were similarly dismissive of her grievance.

Following her attempted march toward the Assembly building, Capital Police detained Saraswati and are now conducting an interrogation to fully understand the circumstances surrounding her case.
