US Closely Monitors Deadly Red Fort Blast in Delhi as Death Toll Reaches Eight

On Monday, the United States announced it is actively monitoring the situation following the devastating bomb explosion near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed at least eight lives and left numerous others injured. The US has expressed readiness to offer consular assistance as needed.

Speaking to PTI, a State Department spokesperson stated, "We are aware of the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi. We are closely monitoring the situation and stand ready to provide consular assistance." A powerful explosion tore through a car moving slowly at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi, resulting in eight fatalities and destroying several vehicles in the vicinity.

The blast, which occurred during a busy evening when the area was crowded with pedestrians, left twenty-four people injured. All wounded individuals were swiftly evacuated to LNJP hospital, located a short distance from the explosion site.
