Looking back at Delhi's history with explosions since 1997, a concerning pattern emerges:
On January 9, 1997, a bomb exploded opposite the Delhi Police Headquarters at ITO, resulting in 50 injuries.
Later that year, on October 1, two bomb explosions near a procession in Sadar Bazar injured 30 people.
Just days later, on October 10, three bomb blasts across Shantivan, Kauria Pul, and Kingsway Camp areas killed one person and injured 16 others.
On October 18, 1997, twin bomb blasts in Rani Bagh market claimed one life and injured 23 people.
The violence continued when twin bomb blasts in Karol Bagh market on October 26 resulted in one death and 34 injuries.
Red Fort has witnessed previous attacks, with twin blasts on November 30, 1997, killing three people and injuring 70 others.
Before the year ended, on December 30, 1997, a bomb exploded in a bus near Punjabi Bagh, killing four commuters and injuring approximately 30.

Two weeks later, on September 27, a low-intensity blast at Mehrauli flower market near Qutab Minar killed three persons and injured 21.
On May 25, 2011, a minor blast occurred in a car park outside Delhi High Court, fortunately causing no casualties.
