Class 11 Student Shot by Classmates with Father's Licensed Pistol at Gurugram Housing Society

The incident occurred at Central Park Resorts in Sector 48.

Two Class 11 students allegedly shot at a classmate using a licensed pistol belonging to one accused's father, at an upscale housing society in Gurugram, police reported on Sunday.

The victim remains in critical condition receiving treatment at a private hospital. Both accused individuals have been detained by authorities.

The shooting took place at Central Park Resorts in Sector 48 on Saturday night when one of the accused invited the 17-year-old victim to an apartment rented by his father.

Initial investigation revealed that the attack stemmed from a previous quarrel between the students. All three teenagers attend the same school near the housing complex.

In her statement to Sadar Police Station, the victim's mother explained that the main accused—whose father owned the pistol—called and repeatedly insisted her son meet him. After initial reluctance, the victim agreed, and the accused came to collect him from his home.

Upon arriving at the apartment, the victim discovered another friend of the accused was also present. The primary accused then shot the teenager using his father's licensed firearm.

Police stated that upon receiving notification, officers rushed to the location but found the injured teen had already been transported to Medanta Hospital.

Authorities recovered one pistol, a magazine, five live cartridges, one empty shell, and another magazine containing 65 live cartridges from a box in the apartment.

A forensic team was dispatched to examine the crime scene.

A case has been registered regarding the incident and authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation.

Gurugram Police have urged all firearm owners to secure their licensed weapons properly and keep them out of children's reach to prevent similar incidents.
