On Camera, Bengaluru Zomato Delivery Agent Thrashed For Delayed Order

A Zomato delivery agent was thrashed by two men for arriving late with their order in Bengaluru on Sunday.

A Zomato delivery agent was assaulted by two individuals in Bengaluru on Sunday after arriving late with their food order. The confrontation occurred near Shobha Theatre where the men approached the delivery person about the delay, which escalated into a heated dispute.

Frustrated by the late delivery, the two men grabbed objects from their surroundings and physically attacked the delivery worker.

The incident was captured on video that subsequently went viral, showing one man striking the delivery agent twice on the head with a plastic container found nearby. The second individual then attacked him using a chair.

Law enforcement officers intervened shortly after and collected statements from both the delivery agent and the two assailants.

The delivery executive ultimately chose not to submit a formal complaint about the incident.

In a separate incident earlier this year, a customer publicly criticized the food delivery service after experiencing multiple service failures while attempting to order dinner, describing the platform as a "headache." She shared a comprehensive post on LinkedIn highlighting concerns regarding customer experience and accountability in the app-based service industry, despite available technologies like AI tools, real-time tracking systems, and chat support. The post promptly gained Zomato's attention, who issued an apology for their service, stating they were "disappointed to hear" about her experience. The company also requested her contact information to conduct a further investigation.
