Mother and 8-Year-Old Daughter Murdered in Suspected Robbery at Rajasthan Home: Police Investigation Underway

Police officials have confirmed that a murder case has been registered and an investigation is actively in progress following a tragic incident in Kota's Rojadi area.

A 32-year-old woman named Jyoti and her eight-year-old daughter Palak were discovered deceased in their rented accommodation with extensive injuries on their bodies, authorities reported on Saturday.

Relatives of Jyoti indicated that jewelry was missing from the residence, cupboards were left open, and household items were scattered throughout, suggesting a robbery had taken place during the incident.

In a fortunate development, Jyoti's one-and-a-half-year-old son was found alive in his cradle, though in a semi-conscious state due to "prolonged crying." The infant was immediately transported to a medical facility by his father.

DSP Manish Sharma addressed reporters outside the mortuary, stating that a murder investigation has been initiated and is progressing. He assured that the perpetrators would be apprehended shortly, adding that post-mortem examinations were being conducted on both victims.

Bhagwan Vaishnav, the husband of Jyoti, recounted returning from work at approximately 8 pm to find his daughter bleeding. With assistance from neighbors, he rushed her to a hospital where medical professionals declared her deceased.

Concurrently, additional family members located Jyoti's body in the kitchen area and transported her to a hospital as well.

Jyoti's brother-in-law, present at the mortuary, informed reporters that when they discovered her body, a roti was on the gas stove with kneaded flour nearby, indicating she was in the process of cooking when attacked.

Her daughter, still dressed in her school uniform, was found in a separate room and is believed to have been suffocated to death, according to the brother-in-law.

He also noted the presence of three tea cups in the room, suggesting visitors had been at the residence. He confirmed that Jyoti's jewelry was missing, supporting the robbery theory.
