Security Forces Raid Two Jails in Jammu and Kashmir Amid Counter-Terrorism Operations

Security forces conducted coordinated raids on two prison facilities in Jammu and Kashmir as part of an expanding counter-terrorism initiative. The operations, led by the Counter Intelligence Wing with paramilitary support, targeted Central Jail in Srinagar and District Jail in Kupwara, while simultaneous actions in Kulgam district focused on residences linked to suspected terrorist connections across the Line of Control.

2 Jails Raided In Jammu And Kashmir Amid Crackdown On Terror Activities

The intelligence agency has been actively monitoring activities within jail facilities according to reports.

Srinagar:

On Saturday morning, authorities conducted raids at two prison facilities in Jammu and Kashmir in relation to suspected terror-linked operations occurring inside these institutions.

Sources revealed that the Counter Intelligence Wing of Jammu and Kashmir police, supported by substantial paramilitary forces, carried out coordinated searches at both the Central Jail in Srinagar and the District Jail in Kupwara.

Reports indicate that intelligence agencies have been conducting surveillance on activities within these prison facilities.

Simultaneously, police forces in Kulgam district implemented a crackdown, searching numerous residences of individuals allegedly connected to terrorist organizations or persons operating from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Many of the searched properties belong to family members of individuals who crossed the Line of Control (LoC) years ago and are suspected of joining terrorist groups operating in PoK.

Police officials described this as a significant operation aimed at dismantling the infrastructure supporting terrorism and subversive activities.

Authorities confirmed that several individuals have been charged following these operations.
