The confrontation over who would pass first had begun with "Who are you".
Bihar assembly elections in its first phase today was marked by several unpleasant incidents, including a dung attack on Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha, an assault on a CPI-ML leader's vehicle, and RJD's Bhai Virendra Singh publicly threatening an election official. However, the most dramatic event was the heated, intense Bollywood-style confrontation between Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha and the Rashtriya Janata Dal's MLC Ajay Singh—captured on NDTV camera.
The two political figures came face to face when their vehicles blocked each other in Lakhisarai, where Sinha serves as the incumbent MLA.
The altercation over which vehicle would proceed first began with "Who are you," quickly escalated to accusations of intoxication in prohibition-enforced Bihar, and concluded with threats like "I'll see you after the 14th. You are done."
The Deputy Chief Minister had already experienced a difficult morning—encountering hostile RJD supporters in Lakhisarai who pelted his car with slippers, stones, and cow dung while shouting "murdabad" slogans. His claims that voters were being obstructed were contradicted by law enforcement, who maintained that voting was proceeding "peacefully." He had labeled the district police chief a "coward" and a "weakling" and declared that once the NDA returns to power, they would "run bulldozers" over the troublemakers responsible.

Stepping out of his dung-covered vehicle, he confronted the MLC, repeatedly accusing him of "drunken hooliganism." He also insisted that the RJD leader undergo a breathalyzer test, claiming he smelled of alcohol.
The RJD leader responded with equal intensity, questioning the minister's authority to demand such a test and accusing him of intimidation. He claimed the BJP only spreads falsehoods. Both sides exchanged allegations of attempting to seize control of a polling booth.
The minister later informed NDTV that the RJD leader was intoxicated and creating disturbances at a polling station in Nadiyama. After receiving this information, he was heading there when he encountered the RJD leader en route.
"These are the favored troublemakers of the RJD who were causing disruptions... Ajay Singh and Sujit Kumar. They were formerly with the JD(U) and have now joined the Congress... The Election Commission should investigate this matter," he stated to NDTV.
Sinha, the current MLA from Lakhisarai, is engaged in a three-way contest with Congress's Amaresh Kumar and Jan Suraaj Party's Suraj Kumar.
