Polling in both Bhagalpur and Araria is scheduled for November 11.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a scathing critique of the Congress and RJD during his election rally in Bhagalpur on Thursday. He accused both parties of creating divisions in Bihar along caste and communal lines, emphasizing that Congress cannot erase the stains of the Bhagalpur massacre from its history.
"While RJD pushed Bihar into caste-based conflicts, Congress instigated communal riots. Congress will forever bear the stain of the Bhagalpur massacre, just as they cannot remove the stain of Sikh killings from their record. The Bhagalpur massacre will remain an indelible mark on Congress's history," stated PM Modi.
He further claimed that the destructive politics practiced by RJD and Congress forced Bihar's youth to migrate from the state.
"Those engaged in destructive politics have no interest in Bihar's development. Their actions compelled Bihar's youth to face the hardship of migration. The NDA is firmly committed to ensuring Bihar's youth can build their careers within the state and bring honor to Bihar," he declared.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the apparent discord within the opposition alliance.
"Despite being out of power, they're busy undermining each other. You'll see numerous posters featuring RJD leaders, but can you spot even one Congress leader clearly displayed? Similarly, at Congress rallies, they avoid mentioning RJD leaders. Their mutual distrust is so profound that they fear each other's presence," PM Modi observed, noting that Congress leaders remain conspicuously silent regarding RJD's announcements.
Earlier the same day, PM Modi addressed supporters at a rally in Araria, where he also criticized the Grand Alliance.
He alleged that a Congress leader had disrespected the sacred Chhath festival by dismissing it as mere drama.
"This constitutes an insult to Chhath Maiya. Our mothers and sisters observe this fast with such dedication that they don't even consume water. RJD maintains silence when such disrespectful statements are made. I'm confident Bihar's women will never permit the return of jungle raj," he asserted.
Commenting on the ongoing first-phase polling, the Prime Minister expressed that the enthusiasm visible on the ground reflects strong support for the ruling alliance.
"A single voice resonates across Bihar -- once again NDA. This sentiment is driven by the aspirations of youth and the determination of mothers and sisters. Since morning, long queues have been visible, with women and youth voting in significant numbers. I extend my congratulations to all voters," PM Modi said.
The second phase of Bihar Assembly elections will include voting in both Bhagalpur and Araria on November 11.
