Authorities confirmed that Santhosh was apprehended on November 5 in Bengaluru.
In Krishnagiri, law enforcement officials have arrested a woman and her male acquaintance from Bengaluru on charges related to installing a concealed camera in a bathroom at a women's hostel in Nagamangalam, Hosur, as reported on Thursday.
A significant demonstration occurred when numerous female employees of Tata Electronics Pvt Ltd's Nagamangalam facility in Krishnagiri district protested after discovering a hidden surveillance device in a bathroom at the company's residential facility, Vidiyal Residency. The accommodation, an 11-story structure comprising eight separate blocks, houses more than 6,000 women.
Investigations revealed that Neelukumari Gupta, a 22-year-old from Odisha who worked at the company's Nagamangalam facility and resided at the hostel, had placed the surveillance device at the urging of her male friend, 25-year-old Santhosh.
Superintendent of Police P Thangadurai stated that a police team from Udanapalli arrested Santhosh on November 5 in Bengaluru.
According to official reports, the camera was installed on November 2 in a bathroom of a room occupied by women from northern states, where Neelukumari also resided.
Following the workers' protest, Hosur Additional Collector Aakriti Sethi and the Superintendent of Police arrived on site to engage with the demonstrators and provide assurances regarding their safety concerns.
Police were required to calm the parents of female employees who had gathered in substantial numbers at the hostel on Wednesday.
The official confirmed that female police officers have been deployed to thoroughly inspect the premises to determine if additional hidden cameras were installed in other locations.
