121 constituencies in Bihar participated in the polling process today.
In Bettiah, Union Home Minister Amit Shah strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday for inquiring about the caste and religious composition of Army personnel.
During consecutive election rallies across Madhubani, West Champaran and Motihari districts, Shah emphasized that illegal immigrants from Bangladesh not only take away jobs but also present security challenges for the country. He stated that the Bihar assembly elections aim to make the eastern state "free from infiltrators."
"Rahul Gandhi ought to feel ashamed for questioning the caste and religion of Army jawans. Our military personnel are never categorized based on caste or religious beliefs," Shah declared.
On Tuesday, during public gatherings in Bihar, Gandhi had alleged that lower castes, tribal groups, and minorities have minimal representation in private corporations, the judiciary, bureaucracy, and armed forces, claiming that 10 percent of the population controls these institutions.
Shah accused the RJD of perpetrating massacres and sexual assaults during their governance, asserting that strongmen have no place in the NDA administration.
"Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, a Makhana Board was established... but if 'Lalu & co' gain power, they will create an 'infiltrator entry board'," he claimed.
Stressing that only the partnership of Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar can prevent lawlessness in Bihar, he alleged that Lalu Prasad and Rahul Gandhi were facilitating the entry of infiltrators.
Criticizing the Mahagathbandhan alliance, Shah warned that Champaran would transform into a 'mini-Chambal' if the opposition coalition assumes power in Bihar.
"Bihar stood against Indira Gandhi's corruption and opposed the Emergency, yet now Congress seeks to govern the state with RJD's assistance," he added.
"Neither Lalu Prasad nor Rahul Gandhi can impede the construction of a magnificent Sita temple in Sitamarhi within thirty months," he further stated.
Shah promised that Champaran will receive a new airport, closed sugar mills in the region will be revitalized through cooperatives, and significant programs will be implemented for the Tharu community if NDA returns to power.
He also mentioned plans for a new medical college in Motihari and a Rs 100 crore renovation project for the Baba Someshwar Nath temple in Areraj.
