Lalu Yadav Calls for Change in Bihar After 20 Years of JDU Rule - "Time to Flip the Political Roti"

Lalu Yadav declared "20 years is enough" and emphasized that Bihar needs to vote for change after casting his ballot in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly election.

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) patriarch drew an interesting comparison between politics and cooking, stating, "We must keep flipping the roti when it is on the hot tawa, otherwise it will get burnt. Twenty years is enough. A Tejashwi-led government is important for a new Bihar." He shared this message alongside a photo featuring his son Tejashwi and wife, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, after the family cast their votes at a polling station in Patna.

It's worth noting that the JDU, led by Nitish Kumar, came to power in Bihar in 2005, displacing the RJD government previously headed by Lalu Yadav.

Lalu Yadav posted on social media: "तवा से रोटी पलटती रहनी चाहिए नहीं तो जल जाएगी।20 साल बहुत हुआ! अब युवा सरकार और नए बिहार के लिए तेजस्वी सरकार अति आवश्यक है।"

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Lalu's longtime political rival and former ally, exercised his voting right in Bakhtiyarpur. He stated, "In a democracy, voting is not just our right, but also our responsibility. Today, Bihar is voting in the first phase of the election. I urge everyone to vote. Vote and inspire others, too."

The first phase of voting covers 121 Assembly seats across 18 districts, with the remaining 122 constituencies scheduled to vote on November 11. Results will be announced on November 14.

The electoral battle features the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising JDU, BJP, Chirag Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party, and Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) on one side. They face the Mahagathbandhan alliance, which includes RJD, Congress, Left parties, and Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party.
