Police officials confirmed that all four individuals arrested are active military personnel.
In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, authorities have detained four brothers following allegations that they physically assaulted police officers stationed at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan. These brothers, who serve in the Army, have subsequently been transferred to military police custody for further proceedings, according to official statements released Wednesday.
SP (City) Rajeev Kumar Singh detailed that the confrontation took place on Tuesday during morning prayer services. The incident escalated when the brothers attempted to leave the temple through the designated entrance gate, contrary to established protocols.
When temple security personnel intervened to redirect them, the situation deteriorated rapidly. The accused reportedly became verbally abusive before physically attacking the officers, resulting in damage to their uniforms, as stated by the supervising officer.
"We have identified the four individuals as Abhay Singh, Sanjay Singh, Nirbhay Singh, and Rahul Singh, all residents of Aliganj in Etah district. Formal charges have been filed at the Vrindavan police station in connection with this incident," the officer confirmed.
