Patna: Jyoti Manjhi, current MLA from Barachatti Assembly constituency and candidate of Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustan Awam Morcha, allegedly faced an attack by unknown individuals during her election campaign. However, police investigations have found no evidence supporting these claims, though they will form a Special Investigation Team to investigate further.

According to reports, the incident occurred while Manjhi was campaigning with supporters. She claimed stones were thrown at her convoy, with one striking her. Her party stated she was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police responded to the scene near Shobh Bazaar flyover to investigate the alleged attack. BJP leaders have condemned the incident and called for immediate arrests, while Manjhi's supporters have expressed anger over the attack happening just before the first phase of elections. Barachatti constituency is scheduled to vote in the second phase on November 11.
Police investigations revealed that after questioning six individuals present at the location, none had witnessed the attack or could identify the direction from which any stone might have been thrown. No injuries to other individuals or damage to vehicles were reported.
A police statement explained that Manjhi was initially taken to the Primary Health Center in Barachatti but requested transfer to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College Hospital in Gaya. Medical examinations and X-rays conducted there showed no evidence of injuries.
It's worth noting that Jyoti Manjhi has family connections to Jitan Ram Manjhi, with her daughter married to his son.
Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) received six seats from the NDA alliance. The party's candidates include Deepa Kumari (Imamganj), Anil Kumar (Tikari), Jyoti Manjhi (Barachatti), Romit Kumar (Atri), Prafull Kumar Manjhi (Sikandra), and Lalan Ram (Kutumba). Four candidates, including Jitan Ram Manjhi's daughter-in-law Deepa Manjhi and her mother Jyoti Manjhi, are incumbent MLAs.
Within Bihar's 243-seat assembly, the NDA has distributed 101 seats each to BJP and JDU, with the remaining 41 seats allocated among smaller allies: 29 to Chirag Paswan's LJP Ram Vilas, 6 to HAM, and 6 to Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha.
