Father Beats 18-Year-Old Daughter to Death Over Phone Calls in Uttar Pradesh: Police Investigation Underway

The police reported that phone conversations were a constant source of conflict between the father and his daughter.

In Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when a father allegedly beat his 18-year-old daughter to death after she spoke on the phone with a friend despite his objections.

Authorities have detained 50-year-old Noor Mohammad who reportedly broke his daughter Ruby's phone, which led to an argument that escalated violently. He allegedly attacked her with a stick, resulting in her death.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Dwivedi, phone calls had been causing frequent disagreements between the father and daughter. The family resides in Sutnera village in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

When Ruby continued to communicate with her friend against her father's wishes, Noor Mohammed broke her phone and discarded it on Monday.

SP Dwivedi revealed that during interrogation, a family member informed police that a heated argument erupted between father and daughter on Tuesday afternoon regarding the phone issue.

The situation deteriorated rapidly, with the father resorting to violence by beating his daughter with a stick, which proved fatal.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police officers arrived at the location and arranged for the body to be sent for post-mortem examination.

A search was subsequently launched for the father, who was discovered hiding within the village.

The police have detained him for questioning, and investigations are currently ongoing.
