An official confirmed that "the flight landed safely with 172 persons on board" after being diverted to Bhopal.

Bhopal:

An Air India flight traveling from Delhi to Bengaluru carrying 172 passengers and crew was diverted to Bhopal on Monday night due to a technical issue and successfully completed an emergency landing at Raja Bhoj Airport, according to airport authorities.

The aircraft (AIC 2487, A320 Neo, VT-EXO) was rerouted to Bhopal airport after a warning indicator was triggered in the cargo hold compartment, as explained by an airport representative.

The official stated, "Following standard safety protocols, a full emergency was declared at 1933 IST. Shortly thereafter, the flight crew confirmed that the warning signal had cleared and all aircraft systems were functioning normally. The flight touched down safely at 2000 IST with 172 individuals aboard. All operations have returned to normal."

The emergency diversion was efficiently managed through coordinated efforts between Air Traffic Control, Airport Fire Services, and airline personnel at Bhopal Airport. Airport Director Ramji Awasthi noted that regular operations were not disrupted during this incident.
