PM Modi Attacks Tejashwi Yadav for Sidelining Lalu Prasad in RJD Campaign Posters Ahead of Bihar Elections

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched pointed criticisms at Tejashwi Yadav during rallies in Katihar and Saharsa, claiming the RJD leader is attempting to distance himself from his father Lalu Prasad's "jungle raj" legacy. Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of obstructing Bihar's development, being soft on illegal immigration, and planning to terminate welfare schemes if elected. The Prime Minister contrasted NDA's development agenda against what he described as the opposition's destructive approach ahead of Bihar's two-phase elections scheduled for November.

PM Modi's Salvo At RJD Posters

Bihar is scheduled to conduct its electoral process in two phases on November 6 and November 11.

In Katihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing critique against INDIA bloc's Chief Ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav, suggesting that he was attempting to "conceal the wrongdoings" of his father Lalu Prasad by relegating his images to peripheral positions on RJD campaign materials.

During his rally address in Katihar district, the Prime Minister refrained from directly naming the father and son but employed the phrase "jungle raj ke yuvraaj" (crown prince of lawlessness) to reference Yadav.

"What transgression is he concealing by minimizing images of his own father—whom you claim is such a prominent leader and served as Chief Minister for years—on RJD campaign materials? Perhaps he has recognized that this supposedly great leader carries the burden of jungle raj," Modi alleged.

The Prime Minister further contended that while the RJD operated under "Bihar's most corrupt family," its ally Congress functioned under "the nation's most corrupt family."

Attempting to create division between the alliance partners, Modi reiterated that Congress agreed to name Yadav as the Chief Ministerial candidate only when the RJD "threatened them with a katta (country-made firearm)," and claimed that the grand old party was strategically working to ensure its ally's defeat in the assembly elections.

"Congress leadership is distancing themselves from commitments made in their joint manifesto, insisting the RJD should provide explanations. They've been inviting Chief Ministers from Telangana and Tamil Nadu—known for their disparaging remarks about Biharis—to campaign in the state, hoping to generate resentment against their ally and contribute to electoral losses," he alleged.

Earlier at a Saharsa rally, Modi accused the RJD of obstructing Bihar's development initiatives by pressuring the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre as "retribution" for their 2005 removal from state power.

"When the RJD lost power in Bihar in 2005, they still maintained influence at the Centre. Projects like the Kosi Mahasetu had received approval under Atal Bihari Vajpayee's government. The RJD was so incensed by Nitish Kumar forming the new state government that they pressured Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi to halt all such initiatives in Bihar," he claimed.

"The RJD cannot comprehend the hardships faced by Kosi region residents, which were alleviated through bridge construction. We're also pursuing river interlinking projects. The NDA manifesto outlines a comprehensive flood control strategy," he added.

Modi characterized the NDA as representing 'vikas' (development) while describing the "jungle raj wallahs" (proponents of lawlessness) as standing for 'vinash' (destruction).

"They must face consequences for their misdeeds. The assembly elections provide an opportunity for voters to hold them accountable," he stated.

"The RJD now makes hollow development promises, but while governing, its leaders evaded responsibilities by claiming road construction would increase accidents and improved electricity supply would heighten electrocution risks. They even characterized flooding as auspicious," Modi alleged.

Addressing an area with significant Muslim population, Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of being lenient toward "infiltrators" and disrespectful toward both the Ram temple in Ayodhya and Chhath Puja celebrations.

"Infiltrators cannot be permitted to consume resources intended for our nation's citizens. RJD and Congress leadership finds time to visit various international destinations but not the Ram temple in Ayodhya," he claimed.

Modi alleged that efforts were underway to alter the Seemanchal region's demographic composition, with RJD and Congress compromising national security for electoral advantage.

"Congress and RJD opposed legislation against triple talaq and now discuss rescinding the Waqf Amendment Act under extremist pressure," he asserted.

The Prime Minister claimed that Congress and RJD consistently defend infiltrators whenever BJP attempts to address illegal migration issues.

Acknowledging north Bihar's Mithila region as historically associated with female deities like Sita, Bharti, and Gargi, Modi said, "From this land of distinguished women, I extend congratulations to our daughters who have made us proud by winning the Cricket World Cup." Highlighting women's achievements across various fields, Modi suggested that critics who ridiculed the "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao" campaign must feel embarrassed for disparaging the country's women.

"To mothers and sisters benefiting from NDA welfare programs, I caution: beware of the 'jungle raj wallahs' who intend to terminate all these measures if they attain power," he warned.

Modi emphasized his special regard for Bihar and its cultural products, noting the makhana (fox nut) garland presented to him at the event.

"When visiting foreign nations, I present makhana gift boxes to world leaders, proudly telling them this represents Bihar's farmers' diligent work," he shared.

The Prime Minister highlighted the alleged disorder prevalent during RJD governance, stating that "even conscientious police personnel felt unsafe. Highway construction workers faced fatal attacks. People from backward and extremely backward communities endured widespread mistreatment."

"DSP Satyapal Singh was murdered in Saharsa for confronting lawlessness," he added.

Without explicitly naming opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, Modi referenced, "They fantasize about forming the next central government and promise establishing a university at Nalanda, an ancient learning center where foreigners would come for education."

"Congress habitually misleads. I can inform you that a modern university already exists at Nalanda. During their governance, they allocated merely Rs 20 crore for the project before abandoning it. After assuming power in 2014, we invested Rs 2,000 crore in its development," Modi concluded.
