The terrifying encounter was fully documented on a smartphone.

What began as a recreational outing to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve in Uttar Pradesh quickly transformed into a harrowing experience when a tiger launched an attack on a tourist jeep, leaving the visitors in a state of panic. The powerful predator lunged at their vehicle, scratching the exterior before the driver managed to speed away. This frightening confrontation was recorded on video.

Nitin Agarwal from Puranpur in Pilibhit had organized a safari excursion with 10 family members on Saturday. He mentioned this was their first time visiting the reserve, a trip primarily arranged at his children's request.

Describing the event, Nitin Agarwal explained that during the afternoon, their driver reduced speed after noticing movement within the nearby vegetation. His children began capturing footage with their mobile devices. Shortly thereafter, the tiger initiated pursuit of their vehicle.

According to Nitin's account, by the time the driver attempted to accelerate, the tiger had already closed the distance significantly and attacked. Fortunately, due to the elevated position of the jeep, the animal was unable to reach any of the passengers.

The entire sequence was recorded on a mobile phone. At the beginning of the footage, the tourists can be heard speaking enthusiastically after spotting the tiger near the bushes, pointing it out to each other with excitement about witnessing the magnificent animal at close range.

However, within seconds, their mood changes dramatically as the initial thrill transforms into terror when they realize the tiger is advancing toward their vehicle. The passengers begin frantically shouting "run, run!" while the driver rapidly accelerates the gypsy to escape the imminent danger.

Following this incident, numerous tourists have expressed apprehension about visiting the forest, while officials from the forest department have declined to comment on the attack.

Established in 2008, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve covers approximately 727 square kilometers, positioning it as one of Northern India's most important protected areas. The reserve is celebrated for its abundant and diverse ecosystem, offering sanctuary to numerous endangered species. It serves as home to the magnificent Bengal Tiger and plays a vital role in conservation efforts for this species.
