Himachal BJP MLA Hans Raj Faces Serious Harassment Allegations While Claiming Defamation

Hans Raj stated that the allegations were an attempt to "tarnish his image"

A woman from Chamba, Himachal Pradesh has accused BJP MLA Hans Raj of harassment and threatening her family members. The legislator, however, has dismissed these allegations, claiming they appear to be an attempt to provoke "communal tension".

A video of the woman making these accusations has emerged on social media platforms. Previously, the woman had filed an FIR against the MLA last year, accusing him of sending inappropriate messages and requesting nude photographs.

In the circulating video, the woman claims that certain individuals attempted to defame her by suggesting she received payment to make accusations against Churah MLA Hans Raj, and that she faced pressure to withdraw her complaint.

"If any harm comes to my family members, I will not spare the MLA," she states tearfully in the footage.

The accuser further alleges that the BJP leader's wife has been threatening that he would "settle scores" upon becoming a minister. She added that the MLA "has ruined her life" and she now has nothing more to lose.

The woman turned to social media expressing her lack of faith in police and other authorities, claiming they took "no action" and pressured her to reach a compromise with the MLA. She also accused a doctor and a junior engineer of mistreating her father.

Hans Raj, who has secured his position as legislator in the last three elections, released his own video refuting these allegations.

The MLA claimed the woman was "like his daughter" but had made similar allegations in the previous year. He stated that police had investigated those claims and provided a closure report. He expressed confusion about why she was repeating these allegations, saying he was "unable to understand her motive".

Suggesting that this appears to be "a sinister move to trigger communal violence," Hans Raj has requested police to thoroughly investigate the matter.

He emphasized that the situation is serious and announced his intention to file a defamation case to "get to the root of the matter".

Hans Raj maintained that these allegations were an attempt to "tarnish his image" as he emerges as a prominent leader from Chamba and to impede Churah's development.
