Grandson of Jan Suraaj supporter Dular Chand Yadav declared that the family will not perform the traditional 'brahambhoj' ritual following his grandfather's murder until all five accused are apprehended and receive capital punishment.
This statement came shortly after authorities arrested former Bihar MLA Anant Singh in connection with the killing. Singh, who is currently the JD(U) candidate for Mokama and known locally as a strongman, has been named as an accused in the FIR filed based on the grandson's complaint.
The deceased, Dular Chand Yadav, who had a history as a gangster-turned-politician with multiple criminal cases against him, was reportedly a Jan Suraaj supporter. His grandson alleged to PTI Video that, "My grandfather was killed by his opponents with the help of the administration."
He emphasized their demand that all five individuals implicated in the murder must face arrest. "We will not proceed with the 'Brahambhoj', a ritual performed after the death of a person, unless all five accused are arrested and sentenced to death," he firmly stated.
Anant Singh, who is attempting to reclaim the Mokama seat as a candidate of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U), was taken into custody early Sunday in relation to the case.
Police have also apprehended two other suspects - Manikant Thakur and Ranjeet Ram - for their alleged involvement in Yadav's killing. A senior police officer confirmed that all three individuals would be presented before a magistrate on Sunday.
