Gurugram:
A 17-year-old girl studying in class 11 was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by two men whom she had previously connected with on social media, according to police reports on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Tuesday while the victim was heading to her tuition classes. After the assault, the perpetrators abandoned her near her residence and fled the scene in their vehicle, authorities stated.
Police revealed that the girl, who attends a government school, had established contact with the accused approximately two to three months earlier through Instagram.
In his statement, the victim's father explained that his daughter left home for tuition at 4:30 pm but failed to return by 6:30 pm. Upon visiting the tuition center, he discovered she had never arrived there, prompting the family to begin searching for her.
"Around 8 pm, my daughter finally returned home in a distressed state and broke down crying," the father mentioned in his complaint.
"She recounted that while en route to her tuition center, two young men named Lakshya and Ankit intercepted her with a black car. Despite her repeated refusals, they coerced her into the vehicle under the pretense of driving her to the tuition center. Instead, they took her to an isolated location where both of them sexually assaulted her," according to the filed complaint.
Based on the complaint, police registered an FIR against the accused under section 4 (penetrative sexual assault) of POCSO Act, along with sections 96 (procuration of child), 70(1) (gangrape), and 3(5) (common intention) of the BNS at Shivaji Nagar police station on Tuesday.
"Following the victim's medical examination, we registered the case and are conducting a thorough investigation. The accused are reportedly students. We are actively conducting raids to apprehend them soon," a senior police officer stated.
