A diplomatic contingent representing seven nations is making an official visit to Bihar on Sunday as part of the "Know BJP" initiative, a diplomatic outreach program launched by BJP National President JP Nadda.
The international delegates are embarking on a two-day visit (November 2-3) with the objective of observing the BJP's electoral campaign activities in the state and gaining comprehensive insights into India's democratic and electoral mechanisms at the grassroots level.
According to an official BJP press statement, the diplomatic delegation comprises representatives from the Embassies and High Commissions of Japan, Indonesia, Denmark, Australia, the United Kingdom, Bhutan, and South Africa. These diplomats will engage in discussions with senior BJP leadership, observe various campaign activities, and visit key electoral constituencies to understand the party's voter engagement strategies and management of large-scale election campaigns.
"The primary purpose of this visit is to familiarize the diplomats with BJP's functioning, outreach initiatives, and organizational capabilities, while simultaneously providing them with firsthand experience of India's electoral processes at the grassroots level," the official statement elaborated.
During their stay in Bihar, the diplomats have a scheduled itinerary covering multiple constituencies across Patna, Nalanda, and Gaya, where they will witness election rallies, campaign meetings, and booth-level coordination activities. Senior BJP officials are expected to provide detailed briefings to the delegation regarding the party's digital outreach strategies, volunteer organizational structure, and comprehensive campaign approach for the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections.
The diplomatic visit to Bihar is taking place just days before the first phase of polling scheduled for November 6. The second round of voting will be conducted on November 11, with vote counting set for November 14, as the state approaches a closely contested assembly election.
Concurrently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also visiting Bihar on Sunday for a single-day election campaign tour.
The Prime Minister's schedule includes addressing two consecutive rallies, beginning with one in Arrah at 1:30 p.m., followed by another in Nawada at 3:30 p.m.
He is expected to return to Patna around 5:00 p.m., where he will pay floral tributes at the statue of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. At 5:30 p.m., the Prime Minister will participate in a large-scale roadshow in Patna to demonstrate support for NDA candidates.
