BJP Criticizes Lalu Yadav for Halloween Celebrations After His Kumbh Festival Remarks Ahead of Bihar Elections

The BJP has criticized Lalu Yadav regarding Halloween celebrations at his residence, highlighting that the RJD patriarch had previously dismissed the Kumbh festival. Sharing footage where Yadav calls Kumbh "meaningless," the BJP stated that those who attack religious faith will not receive votes. Bihar elections are approaching soon.

The criticism emerged after Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya shared images on social media showing her children in Halloween costumes on Friday. Yadav appeared in photos with his grandchildren, who were dressed as a Grim Reaper and wore other costumes. "Happy Halloween to everyone," Acharya wrote in her post.

The BJP Kisan Morcha account posted a split video featuring Yadav's comments on Kumbh alongside the Halloween images, observing that the RJD leader has no objections to celebrating what they termed a British festival.

Halloween has Celtic origins and is celebrated with spooky decorations, parties, costumes, and trick-or-treating.

"Don't forget, people of Bihar, this is the same Lalu Yadav who called the grand Kumbh of faith and spirituality useless and is celebrating the British festival Halloween. Whoever attacks faith, the people of Bihar will not vote for him," stated the BJP Kisan Morcha.

The two-phase voting for the Bihar assembly elections 2025 is scheduled for November 6 and 11.

Lalu Yadav On Kumbh

Lalu Yadav had described the Maha Kumbh festival as "meaningless" in February, triggering a significant political controversy. "Kumbh ka koi matlab hai? Faltu hai Kumbh (Does Kumbh have any meaning? It's useless)," he had remarked when questioned about the massive attendance at the grand festival held in Prayagraj earlier this year.

Condemning the RJD leader's comments, the BJP had then claimed that such statements reveal his party's attitude toward Hindus. The RJD has consistently insulted Hindu sentiments, according to Bihar BJP spokesperson Manoj Sharma.
