Approximately 12 students were traveling in the school van when the tragic accident occurred, according to official reports.
In Kota, Rajasthan, a devastating collision between a private school van and an SUV on Saturday morning resulted in the death of two young girls and left five other students injured.
Officials stated that while the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, preliminary findings suggest that a tire burst on the school van may have led to the collision.
The deceased were identified as 14-year-old Tanu Nagar, a Class 10 student, and 9-year-old Prijal Arya, who was in Class 4.
The five critically injured students—Bhumik Gawalera (13), Ronit Nagar (11), Prachi Nagar (10), Khanan Nagar (8), and Himani (8)—received initial treatment at a local hospital before being transferred to MBS hospital for further care.
Van driver Parvez Ahmed also sustained injuries and was admitted to MBS hospital. The occupants of the SUV, a Bolero vehicle, reportedly suffered only minor injuries.
Police officials confirmed that approximately 12 students were in the school van at the time of the accident. The five students who escaped without injuries were sent home after medical examination.
Local MLA Chetan Patel visited the hospital in Itawa to check on the injured students. State Education Minister Madan Dilawar, Kota Collector Peyush Samaria, Additional District Magistrate Mukesh Choudhary, and Rajiv Dutta, Officer on Special Duty to Lok Sabha speaker and Kota MP Om Birla, also visited the injured at MBS hospital and instructed staff to provide proper medical care.

Kota Collector Peyush Samaria mentioned that authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the accident.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivam Joshi from Itawa reported that the accident occurred between 7:30 and 8:00 AM on Saturday. The school van, carrying students from Gaita village to a private school in Itawa, lost control and collided with an SUV traveling from Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh toward Bundi.
