Adani Defence Secures SIDM Champion Award 2025 for Excellence in Ammunition Manufacturing at Kanpur Complex

Adani Defence & Aerospace, a leading entity in India's defense sector, has received the prestigious Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) Champion Award 2025 for its exceptional performance in design, manufacturing, and testing capabilities.

The award specifically recognizes the company's state-of-the-art Ammunition Complex located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This Adani Group subsidiary was honored during a ceremony where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented the award, with Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh also in attendance.

The recognition highlights the facility's technological sophistication and advanced manufacturing prowess, reinforcing Adani Defence & Aerospace's dedication to developing world-class manufacturing capabilities within India's indigenous defense production ecosystem. This achievement aligns perfectly with the government's strategic vision of "Made in India, Made for the World."

The impressive Adani Ammunition Complex spans 500 acres and represents India's most advanced integrated ammunition manufacturing ecosystem. It incorporates Industry 4.0 standards, automation, and artificial intelligence-driven precision systems to ensure consistent quality, safety, and superior performance across small, medium, and large caliber ammunition production.

This facility continues to be instrumental in India's progress toward Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), enhancing national security through world-class infrastructure, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

In August, the Kanpur-based manufacturing facility announced plans to significantly increase bullet production, with projections to nearly double output in the coming months. During a video conference with journalists, Rajvanshi outlined the Adani Group's commitment to preparing India for modern defense challenges against evolving threats.

He revealed that the company plans to invest Rs 7,000 crore over the next few years. The Kanpur factory will also produce missiles, with an investment of $1 million allocated for this purpose.

Rajvanshi further disclosed that the company will soon commence production of larger caliber ammunition. Additionally, high-tech warfare equipment including bulletproof jackets, drones, fighter planes, helicopters, and missiles will be manufactured at the facility, providing significant momentum to the 'Make in India' initiative.
