Patna:

Bhojpuri star and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari acknowledged that unemployment remains a challenge in Bihar despite the NDA's 20-year governance, while elaborating on the alliance's ambitious employment pledge for the Bihar assembly elections 2025.

"We have promised a crore jobs plus employment," Tiwari stated during NDTV Bihar Power Play this morning. When questioned about the estimated Rs 2-3 lakh crore cost of this initiative, he clarified that the promise encompasses existing vacancies as well. "This includes current vacancies. NDA has filled many vacancies, but some are still vacant, and efforts are being made to fill them."

Responding to concerns that these unfilled positions reflect poorly on the NDA's 20-year administration, Tiwari explained that employment generation is an ongoing process, noting that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have focused on strengthening Bihar's financial foundation.

"The state benefits only when the revenue rises. We first had to fix the treasury's health. Nitish ji and Modi ji did that. Our expenditure will cross the budget by Rs 2 lakh crore. But those talking nonsense must be questioned," Tiwari emphasized.

He highlighted that the state has already created substantial employment opportunities, pointing to a trend of reverse migration with Biharis returning to work in their home state.

"Very few Biharis now work in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Delhi. They are now working in Bihar. A reverse migration has begun. Not all have returned, but this is happening. We're investing in Bihar. We are building food processing units here," Tiwari stated, adding that the state's per capita income has tripled since 2005.

Tiwari also commended Chief Minister Kumar for guiding Bihar toward development and confirmed support for him as the NDA's chief ministerial candidate.

Despite representing North East Delhi as an MP since 2014, Tiwari remains a significant figure in Bihar politics, with substantial influence among his Bhojpuri fans. As a renowned singer and actor in the Bhojpuri industry, his popular songs include 'Jiya Ho Bihar Ke Lala'.
