President Murmu and PM Modi Lead Nation in Honoring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's 150th Birth Anniversary

President Droupadi Murmu presented floral tributes at the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, marking his 150th birth anniversary.

President Droupadi Murmu offered floral respects at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue during the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, honoring the 150th anniversary of his birth. She also paid homage at Gantantra Mandap within Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena joined President Murmu in presenting floral tributes at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's statue at Patel Chowk in Delhi, expressing their gratitude to the revered leader.
Simultaneously, Prime Minister Modi led thousands of participants in taking an oath at the Statue of Unity in Nandia, Gujarat, as part of the 150th Jayanti celebrations for Sardar Patel.
"I solemnly swear that I will dedicate myself to the preservation of the unity, integrity, and security of the nation. I will also make every effort to spread this message among my countrymen. I take this oath in the spirit of my country's unity, which was made possible by the foresight and hard work of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I also resolve to do my part to ensure the internal security of my country," the Prime Minister recited.
Earlier, PM Modi commemorated the late leader's significant contributions in shaping India's ideology, governance, and destiny during its formative years. He shared a visual tribute on social media celebrating Patel's legacy of vision and public service.
"India pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th Jayanti. He was the driving force behind India's integration, thus shaping our nation's destiny in its formative years. His unwavering commitment to national integrity, good governance and public service continues to inspire generations. We also reaffirm our collective resolve to uphold his vision of a united, strong and self-reliant India," PM Modi wrote on X.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti, also recognized as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is celebrated nationwide with enthusiasm on October 31st to honor the great leader and one of India's most valiant freedom fighters.
The magnificent Statue of Unity in Gujarat, standing 182 meters tall, was constructed in honor of Sardar Patel and holds the distinction of being the world's tallest statue.
Sardar Patel was born on October 31, 1875, in Nandia, Gujarat. Widely known as the "Iron Man of India," he served as India's first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
He is celebrated for his crucial role in integrating over 560 princely states into the Indian Union following Independence. His leadership ensured that India emerged as a unified and dignified nation during a challenging historical period.
Each year, the nation honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with sincere tributes, reaffirming India's unity and strength.
