Ahmedabad (Gujarat):
Adani Cement, in partnership with its Group associate M/s PSP Infra, has achieved a groundbreaking engineering milestone at Umiya Dham near Ahmedabad by completing the world's largest raft foundation casting for a religious temple.
According to a statement released Thursday, this record-setting accomplishment demonstrates Adani Cement's exceptional capacity to integrate massive logistics, technical excellence, and innovative sustainability practices.
The extraordinary achievement was completed during an uninterrupted 54-hour operation utilizing 24,100 cubic metres (M3) of ECOMaxX M45 grade low-carbon concrete, a specialized sustainable mixture developed by Adani Cement that establishes new industry standards.
The project mobilized 26 strategically positioned Ready-Mix Concrete (RMX) facilities, 285 transit mixers operating in a coordinated logistics network, 3,600 tonnes of premium cement, and more than 600 skilled professionals and technical specialists working in rotational shifts across three days.
The entire procedure was carefully orchestrated to ensure seamless concrete pouring without cold joints, while maintaining ideal temperature regulation and consistency of the mixture throughout the process.
By utilizing ECOMaxX concrete, the project significantly decreased its carbon footprint, aligning with Adani Cement's dedication to environmentally responsible construction methods.
Vinod Bahety, CEO, Cement Business, Adani Group, stated: "Umiya Dham is poised to become an iconic spiritual landmark, covering 60 acres and representing an investment of approximately Rs 2,000 crore. This project transcends mere record-setting - it embodies the quality, scale, speed, and purpose that characterizes Adani Cement. As our Chairman believes, these achievements represent more than engineering accomplishments; they are connections between devotion and modern infrastructure. The successful raft casting at Umiya Dham exemplifies this philosophy: where faith drives innovation, and innovation elevates entire communities. When we combine innovation, people, and sustainable materials, we create enduring solutions that establish new global standards. Our ECOMaxX low carbon concrete has enabled the structure to reduce carbon emissions by 60 percent, highlighting our commitment to sustainability and excellence."
R.P. Patel, President, Vishv Umiya Foundation, remarked, "This world-record foundation for the Jagat Janani Maa Umiya (Parvati) temple represents a proud moment for India's cultural and engineering heritage. Adani Cement's demonstrated expertise in executing mega-projects made them our natural partner."
The massive raft foundation for the upcoming world's tallest temple, measuring 450 ft x 400 ft x 8 ft, will support 1,551 Dharma Stambhs for the 504 ft tall Jagat Janani Maa Umiya Temple, envisioned as the spiritual center of an extensive social and cultural campus in Jaspur.
The ECOMaxX M45 concrete formulation incorporates 66 percent Supplementary Cementitious Material (SCM), resulting in a 60 percent reduction in carbon footprint. The proprietary Coolcrete formulation maintained placement temperatures below 28 degrees Celsius, minimizing thermal stress.
Thermocouples embedded within the structure continue to monitor temperature and durability in real time.
Observed by over 1,000 attendees on-site and more than 10,000 online viewers, this accomplishment underscores Adani Cement's expanding influence in shaping India's engineering and spiritual milestones.
Continuing its legacy of landmark projects, Adani Cement maintains a crucial role in India's infrastructure and real estate development. From prestigious structures such as the World One Tower to engineering marvels like the Chenab Railway Bridge in Jammu & Kashmir, the company now extends its expertise to spiritual infrastructure with the Umiya Dham Temple.
This achievement demonstrates not only Adani Cement's technical capabilities but also its commitment to sustainable development and cultural heritage preservation.
