The woman reportedly sustained injuries during her outburst.

A female passenger traveling in an air-conditioned train compartment allegedly broke the window glass after her purse was stolen and railway authorities failed to provide assistance.

A video circulating on social media platform X shows the distressed woman repeatedly striking the window with a tray in an apparent fit of anger, despite other passengers urging her to stop. Eventually, the window completely shattered, sending glass fragments across the floor of the compartment. Throughout this incident, a young child, believed to be her toddler, remained seated beside her.

The woman appeared to have hurt herself during the incident, as footage shows her rubbing her hand in pain after breaking the glass.

Reports indicate that the woman's purse was allegedly stolen during her journey. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to get help from railway staff and police, she apparently lost control and expressed her frustration by breaking the coach window.

One social media user commented, "It's heartbreaking to witness this chaos. The woman's behaviour suggests she might not be in her right mind, possibly under substance influence. My biggest concern is for the child's safety. I wish we had robust child welfare organisations to protect and care for children."

Another person remarked, "Don't know what's worse- damaging public property, creating a public nuisance, or destroying a child's state of mental health with this appalling behaviour. What's very clear is that there is no justification for either. Motherhood is a privilege and a responsibility, this kind of breakdown signals a larger mental health issue, something we can't ignore for the welfare of this innocent child who is being subjected to physical and mental abuse at the hands of its mother."

A user tagged Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw writing, "This vandal woman shattered the train window in anger because she lost her purse. I have said this several times, we need women RPF/GRP personnel in large numbers and on every train. Increase the intake if required."

In a similar incident last year, angry passengers vandalized the Antyodaya Express at Uttar Pradesh's Basti railway station when they couldn't board the locked Mumbai-bound train. People were observed throwing stones at the coach and breaking glass windows to force entry, with some even dismantling iron grills on doors and windowpanes.
