Police confirmed Tuesday that an FIR has been filed against unknown individuals who defaced Tipu Sultan's Palace walls at Nandi Hills with graffiti mentioning gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The historical site falls under Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protection.

The vandalism was discovered Monday morning when visitors to Nandi Hills, located near Bengaluru, observed Bishnoi's name written on the walls of the historic monument, which previously served as Tipu Sultan's summer residence.

The graffiti images spread rapidly across social media platforms, prompting officials to quickly inspect the location.

According to police, "ASI officials immediately removed the graffiti after becoming aware of the situation."

A senior police officer stated, "We have independently registered a case against unidentified persons under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for trespassing, public mischief, and damaging public property. We are still working to identify those responsible for this act."

Police are currently gathering and analyzing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the perpetrators.
