A group of Gujarat tourists attempted a daring 'dine and dash' at a Rajasthan restaurant, leaving without paying their substantial Rs 10,900 bill, only to be apprehended in traffic.
Five tourists, including one woman, visited the Happy Day Hotel in Siyava, near Mount Abu, Rajasthan. After enjoying a sumptuous meal and ordering numerous items, they conspired to evade payment when the bill arrived.
The group employed a classic evasion tactic - pretending to use the restroom. One by one, they excused themselves, but instead of returning to their table, they slipped into their car and attempted to escape.
The vigilant restaurant owner and staff quickly noticed their scheme and immediately began pursuit. CCTV footage captured the tourists' vehicle heading toward Ambaji, at the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
Undeterred by traffic congestion, the determined hotel owner chased the fleeing guests all the way to the state border. With police assistance, all five tourists were apprehended at the border checkpoint.
Following their capture, the tourists reportedly contacted a friend who transferred the owed amount online, finally settling their unpaid restaurant bill.
