Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Joins Thousands in Chhath Puja Celebrations at Yamuna Ghats

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta actively participated in the Chhath Puja celebrations alongside numerous devotees at the Yamuna riverbanks on Tuesday, marking the final day of the festival.

During the sacred ritual of offering 'Arghya' to the rising sun, Gupta prayed to 'Chhathi Maiya' for the prosperity of both India and Delhi, expressing her vision for 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Viksit Delhi' (Developed India and Developed Delhi).

The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction at witnessing the devotees' enthusiasm and highlighted that the arrangements made by her administration were receiving nationwide acclaim.

Several prominent officials joined Gupta at the ITO ghat, including Culture Minister Kapil Mishra, Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj, and Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

"It brings me great satisfaction to see Chhath being celebrated with such magnificence. My Purvanchali brothers and sisters, who previously had to use artificial ponds for their rituals, can now offer Arghya to the Sun God while standing in the actual waters of the Yamuna," Gupta remarked.

The BJP government in Delhi implemented extensive preparations for this major festival of the Purvanchali community, developing 17 ghats along the Yamuna River and establishing 1,300 additional celebration sites throughout the city.

Chhath Puja, a three-day festival dedicated to worshipping the Sun God, is observed with profound devotion by the Purvanchali community, who constitute one of Delhi's largest population groups.
