A police team arrived at the location and transported the body for autopsy examination.

A 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence after being scolded by family members regarding her studies and household responsibilities, police reported on Monday.

The tragic incident occurred on Sunday night in Mayil town, according to authorities.

Police stated that Shivangi Yadav retreated to her room and locked the door following the reprimand. When she failed to respond to calls, concerned family members forced the door open and discovered her hanging from a noose created with a dupatta.

She was immediately rushed to a doctor but was pronounced dead upon arrival, officials added.

After receiving notification, police personnel arrived at the scene and arranged for the body to be sent for post-mortem examination, according to the Mayil Station House Officer.

The officer confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
