55-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Recklessly Driven Thar in Uttarakhand's Haldwani

A 55-year-old man lost his life on Saturday morning after being struck by a recklessly driven Thar vehicle in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, according to police reports.

The victim, identified as Jeevan Pant, was walking along the roadside when the tragic incident occurred in the early morning hours.

Surveillance footage captured the Thar stopping in the middle of the road before making a sharp left turn and subsequently running over Pant, who was walking on the far right edge of the road.

Pant, who resided in Satyalok Colony in Daharia, was immediately transported to Sushila Tiwari Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Police officials stated that the driver of the vehicle was a tourist visiting the area.

Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to gather more information about the incident.
