Hyderabad:
A frightening dashcam recording shared across social media platforms has sparked intense discussions about highway safety and dangerous driving behaviors after showing a motorist barely avoiding what could have been a fatal crash with a truck on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad highway. The video footage, recorded at approximately 4:30 am on October 23, was uploaded to X by the driver himself, who utilized the platform to highlight the dangers of irresponsible driving practices.
The motorist specifically attributed blame to a high-speed private bus that allegedly forced him into this dangerous predicament. In the accompanying text with his video post, he described the terrifying experience.
"Yesterday at 4:30AM, I narrowly missed an accident due to the careless driving of private travel bus on Bangalore to Hyd road.!!Fortunately, I didn't panic. One wrong turn would've costed our lives.!!This is just an example of the accidents costing many lives on the highways…" pic.twitter.com/KAfH3vaMdG

"Yesterday at 4:30 am, I narrowly missed an accident due to the careless driving of a private travel bus on Bangalore to Hyd road. Fortunately, I didn't panic. One wrong turn would've cost our lives," he stated.
He highlighted the wider concern regarding reckless commercial transportation, adding, "This is just an example of the accidents costing many lives on highways due to the careless driving of private travel buses."
The viral footage quickly became a trending topic, attracting thousands of responses, though viewers were deeply divided in their analysis of the event.
Many users expressed alarm and empathy regarding the driver's close call. One commenter noted, "That near miss sounds like a horror movie you survived with a smile and a sigh."
The driver's behavior also faced examination. Critics questioned his lane adherence and emphasized that maintaining sufficient distance from vehicles ahead is essential. "You are right, but you should also keep at least 250 meters distance from the vehicle in front of you," advised one user.
Some commenters defended the bus operator, redirecting blame to other vehicles for blocking traffic lanes. "Nothing wrong with the bus driving. He indicated. If we have to blame the bus for overtaking on the left, then we need to get the slow-moving trucks off the right lane," another user argued, introducing the complicated matter of lane discipline among slower heavy vehicles.
The incident has effectively rekindled a broader, much-needed discussion on road safety awareness, proper lane usage, and the pervasive problem of reckless driving that continues to plague national highways throughout the country.
